Our Vacation Playbook
Superstition is only the fear of belief, while religion is the confidence. – Marguerite Blessington
We came into Friday the 13th with plenty of noise: Israel struck Iran’s nuclear facility, media headlines were swirling, and the S&P stayed locked in an 80-point range around 6,000. There’s movement, but not much direction — and I’m stepping away with the range still intact.
Market Dynamics:
• S&P: Still trading in a tight range.
• Volatility: Popped on headlines but cooled off by the end of the week.
• Rates: Moved slightly. No major shift.
• Oil: If we get a move beyond $76, I’ve left clear guidelines in place for how I’ll trade it.
• What Worked: Semiconductors, uranium, natural resources, and industrial miners showed relative strength.
• What Lagged: Transports, oil stocks, and retail underperformed this week.
How I’m Trading It:
Taking profits on what’s worked.
Going into vacation with the S&P stuck in this range.
