What I Actually DO
Times have changed and times are strange Here I come, but I ain't the same
I’ve rarely self-promoted my own products. I’ve never been the “salesy” type. That’s not who I am.
My approach is the same as it was when I was an Institutional Sales Trader on Wall Street: If I help you make money, will you pay me?
Better stated today - If I help you make money, will you subscribe to my newsletter?
After writing The Navigator for almost a decade, I can say I got more love and trust than I ever imagined.
But over time, especially in this world of social media flexing and surface-level gimmicks, I realized something: I don’t need to be a showoff.
I can tell people why The Navigator is different and what I Actually Do.
TG Macro was founded in August 2016. I launched the first Navigator Newsletter the day before Election Day in November, stating that Trump was going to win and the world was going to change dramatically, and here we are.
After about two years of publishing my thoughts, I hit a wall. I realized something wasn’t sitting right.
Everyone out there was doing the same thing—sharing charts, opinions, and letting people speculate.
But that's not what a trader does. A trader guides. He’s an accountable leader in markets.
He doesn’t just share ideas—he puts his money where his mouth is with conviction and manages the risk from there.
So, on April 3rd, 2018, I added a View Matrix to The Navigator Newsletter
What is the View Matrix? I can be salesy for a moment.
It’s a real-time trading guide to making money.
The View Matrix is a view of my real-time trading book.
It’s transparent. It’s high conviction. Every position and every change is shared in real-time with subscribers.
Even if you are new to the market, you don’t need to understand rocket science to understand tactical trading.
Here is a good endorsement:
Here's What You Get Inside the View Matrix & What It Means
LONG / SHORT - Am I bullish or bearish on this asset?
ENTRY - When the trade was initiated
REASON - Why I took the trade, technical, macro, or political
ALL BETS ARE OFF - A more newsletter-compliant term for my stop-loss level
TARGET - Where does the security go if I’m right
ENTRY / MARK - Entry Price, usually on a daily close at a certain level
DAILY CLOSE - Most recent close
PERFORMANCE - THE NUMBER OF PERCENTAGE POINT GAINS GENERATED, not a portfolio return.
The Navigator Bulletin
When markets move fast or volatility spikes, I drop an urgent Navigator Bulletin—an instant read on a major move, dislocation, or setup that can’t wait till the next issue.
Market Radar: The Sentiment Screen
Every View Matrix includes my Market Radar, a snapshot of where I see opportunity for risk forming—even if I haven’t traded it yet. This way, you can start following the security ahead of time alongside me.
Bullish Themes:
Sectors or assets where I see upside forming.
Examples: Uranium Miners, Industrial Miners, Home Construction.
Bearish Themes:
Sectors under pressure or facing structural headwinds.
Examples: Fiat Currency, Big Pharma, Processed Food, PFE/MRNA
Why Am I Telling You All This?
Because maybe it is time I started sharing the facts. Not to show off. But to be clear.
I’ll never misguide my readers. I’ll never hide behind vague opinions. When I’m right, we make lots of money. When I’m wrong, we get OUT.
I’m a trader, and that’s how it’s done properly.
